Thursday August 3

This morning we woke up, got ready for the day and went down to have a continental breakfast provided by the hotel. It was so nice to have a meal paid for! We went on a walking tour of Paris and saw a lot of great architecture, from super modern to extremely ancient. We stopped at the Eiffel Tower and sketched for a while, I never knew there was so much detail in the structure. After studying it for even just ten minutes, I gained a deeper appreciation. There were army men holding machine guns all over the park and the train station yesterday. They made me feel really safe. We walked to an area where there were a lot of shops and restaurants. After eating lunch Megan and I went with Katie to get her hair cut. We had to ask like 5 people where a salon was before we found someone that knew English. We found a salon and Katie cut at least 12 inches of her hair. It turned out really cute! When the man was finished he started doing her makeup with out saying anything. I experienced my first European crepe (with Nutella and bananas) from a vendor on our way home. It was delicious! Then we went to McDonalds to use the wireless internet since its not provided at our hotel.
