Carpet & Waterbottle Assignments

Here is my carpet sample that i designed with
inspiration from this bookcase display from the
Victoria & Albert Museum. It was designed with
the intention of being used for an area rug as
opposed to a carpet pattern to be repeated.

This is my water bottle designed with two areas of inspiration.
First came from the fact that my water bottle takes up so much
room in my bag and i wanted to design one that held as much
water but was thin enough to slide into a purse without causing
the bulk. The decorative effect came from the cut-out pattern at
the top of castle walls.

Today we visited the design center of London. It was such a great opportunity to be in the middle of amazing design. We even had the chance to talk with a few designers.

This was such a neat paint display. Not only is it
aesthetically pleasing but the design is ingenious
in that the display box is painted in the paint color
and you can see it in various lighting situations.

I took this picture because these are the colors of
my new living room! There were so many great
displays, it was a really good experience.

I loved the way this fabric was displayed. It brought
so much more interest to the textiles after so many
uniform panels of fabric one after another.

This carpet display was in the Brinton's showroom
at the design center. The scale of this photo is the
whole floor-ceiling wall. It was a great way to display
something that could otherwise be overlooked.
