Wednesday July 19

Today we didn't have to meet our group until 11am so it was nice to sleep in a little. When we met up we went to the Churchill Museum. It was so cool! Their exhibit displays were so creative. They really caught my attention and made learning about history fun. After that we headed to the British Museum but weren't given directions so we had to find our way so after walking for about 30 minutes we found it. I was surprised at how large it was! The architecture was incredible. I loved how large it was but didn't feel empty. The purpose of the museum was to display ancient artifacts but yet the architecture was contemporary. I loved how it flowed and kept your attention without overwhelming you with how many pieces there were. They had so many old statues and artifacts. It was really neat. As we headed home we wandered down a different street and suddenly found ourselves at the tube station. It only took like 10 minutes, so apparently we took the scenic route before. We got groceries and then took them home on the tube. Today they said in the newspaper that this week the tubes have been getting up to 130 degrees and every headline talks about the dangers and threats from the heat wave. London is never this hot so nowhere has air conditioning so these last few days have been really hard with having extreme heat everywhere you go.

This is the front of the British Museum. I love the
large columns. It was so beautiful.

The British Museum had different buildings
all connected by this dome like covering.
It helped to make it less hot.

Here are some statues that were from the Parthenon.
They are so old, it gave me chills looking at everything.

Here I am posing in an infamous red
telephone booth. I LOVE LONDON!
